A ranged undead threat for your next encounter

Skeleton Axe is an animated 2D enemy built for dark fantasy combat. Armed with a heavy double-bladed axe, this undead warrior gives your encounters a distinct ranged threat: it can patrol, chase the player, telegraph an attack, and launch an axe across the room.

Its strong skull silhouette, glowing eyes, steel axe and worn crimson cloth remain easy to read in motion — useful for fast-paced platformers, action RPGs, roguelites, metroidvanias and dungeon crawlers.

The pack includes transparent PNG sprite sheets with 256×256 pixel frames. The character faces left and can be flipped in your engine to create the opposite direction.

Designed for practical enemy behavior

Skeleton Axe is more than a decorative monster sprite. The animation set is ready for a straightforward enemy state machine:

1. Idle or patrol with walk.
2. Switch to run when the player is detected.
3. Use the axe throw to clearly telegraph a ranged attack.
4. Spawn a separate projectile on the release frame.
5. Choose between two death animations when the enemy is defeated.

The hit effect can also support impact feedback, a charged attack, or a special enemy phase.

Works with your engine

The files are standard transparent PNG sprite sheets and work with GameMaker, Godot, Unity, Construct, RPG Maker and other 2D engines or editors.
